Dr. Armstrong graduated from Victoria University of Manchester in the United Kingdom, where he also received his medical degree. He also completed his internship at the Royal Infirmary of Manchester, UK. He was a surgical research fellow at the University Hospital SUNY in Syracuse, NY. Dr. Armstrong completed a surgical residence at Yale University and also was a clinical instructor for the university’s department of surgery. He completed a fellowship in colon & rectal surgery at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN. He is board certified by the American Board of Surgery, American Board of Colon & Rectal Surgery, and the Royal College of Surgeons. He is also a fellow of the American College of Surgeons, American College of Colorectal Surgeons, and the Royal College of Surgeons. Dr. Armstrong is currently a member of the Medical Association of Atlanta, and the American Medical Association, and also the Program Director of Georgia Colon & Rectal Surgical Clinic Fellowship Program.
